Preventie van gewelddadig extremisme

Hierbij vindt u informatie over lokale activiteiten ivm preventie van gewelddadige extremisme. Bent u lid van het Belgisch Forum? Aarzel dan niet om de activiteiten en vragen van uw gemeente of organisatie in ons “leden gebied” te delen. U kan ook onze agenda volgen om op de hoogte van studiedagen en/of opleidingen over dit thema te blijven.

Radicalisation and violent extremism need to be tackled through a strong preventative approach as well as just repressive responses, which are not sufficient on their own. A prevention policy must mobilise local partnerships for delinquency prevention and social cohesion to strengthen individual and group resilience to the risks of radicalisation. Through their proximity to citizens, their understanding of local issues and their skills in public policies for the prevention of crime and for social cohesion, local and regional authorities are strategically placed to implement actions and mobilise all local stakeholders concerned.

Europees Forum voor Veiligheid in de Steden

Between September 2014 and December 2017, the European Forum for Urban Security (Efus) led, with funding from the European Commission, the LIAISE “Local institutions against violent extremism” project for exchanging and strengthening the capacities of European local authorities for the implementation of prevention projects against violent radicalisation.

Project publication : Publication present the knowledge gained from research on radicalisation leading to violent extremism, the main elements that must be included in a local prevention strategy, the role of local authorities and examples of good practices.
Introductive thematic videos : As a part of the LIAISE 1 project, thematic videos of a few minutes with expert presentations were developed to introduce each chapter of the publication “Preventing and combating radicalisation at local level”.

Practices sheets : Practices sheets presenting the local actions developed by the partners of the LIAISE project. These sheets detail the objectives, methodology and activities carried out.
Thematic reports : Through exchanges with partners, Efus was able to identify aspects of violent radicalisation for which it was necessary to synthesise existing knowledge and make it operational for local authorities. To this end, Efus called on recognised experts so that they could contribute to the work by drafting summary notes.

VOX-Pol Network

LUNCH BRIEFING SERIES 2019, Hosted by VOX-Pol Network of Excellence and the European Commission Representation in Belgium : The European Commission Representation in Belgium and the VOX-Pol Network of Excellence invite you to a series of Lunchtime Briefing Sessions, this autumn in the European quarter in Brussels, each exploring a different aspect of Violent Online Political Extremism. The briefings are aimed at an audience of policy makers, security practitioners, academics and graduate students, journalists, and civil society stakeholders who want to extend their knowledge of various topics related to violent online political extremism, and to network with specialists on this issue. Given the post-electoral context in Belgium and the increased presence of extremist discourse on social media, this series aims at providing Belgian and European stakeholders with food for thought and action, allowing them to engage in national or local debate.

Handvatten voor de preventie en omgang met polarisering en radicalisering in Brussel en de Vlaamse rand

Samen met de Vlaamse Overheid, de Vlaamse Gemeenschapscommissie en de Vlaamse Vereniging voor Steden & Gemeenten, werkte Brussel Preventie en Veiligheid Handvatten voor de preventie en omgang met polarisering en radicalisering in Brussel en de Vlaamse rand.

Scholen, welzijnsorganisaties, jeugd- en sportverenigingen
BPV zet zich in om polarisering en radicalisering te voorkomen. De handvatten willen specifiek ondersteuning bieden aan scholen, welzijnsorganisaties, jeugd- en sportverenigingen in het Brussels Gewest en de Vlaamse Rand. Jongeren kunnen namelijk in hun ontwikkeling vatbaar zijn voor een zwart-wit polariserend en radicaliserend discours. Voor de betrokken actoren is het bovendien vaak moeilijk om in te schatten hoe best te reageren.
De handvatten wijzen de weg naar:

- welke (preventieve) maatregelen je kan ondernemen per sector,
- hoe je omgaat met verontrustende signalen,
- welke rol een jeugdnetwerk en sport kunnen spelen,
- welke actoren actief zijn in Brussel of de Vlaamse Rand.

Studievoormiddag BFPVS/EFUS 11/12/2017 “Lokale overheden en preventie van de gewelddadige radicalisering”

Het BFPVS nodigde u, in samenwerking met EFUS en BRAVVO vzw – Stad Brussel, op 11/12/2017 uit op een studievoormiddag “Lokale overheden en preventie van de gewelddadige radicalisering: overzicht, uitdagingen en vooruitzichten“, in het kader van het Europese project LIAISE 2, geleid door EFUS en waarvan het BFPVS een partner is.

Hierbij is het programma en de praktische details. Gelieve ons de bijgevoegde evaluatie terug te sturen, die in twee minuten ingevuld kan worden.

De studievoormiddag heeft in het jeugdcentrum van Bravvo vzw “Horizon” plaats gevonden, ter 54, Moorsledestraat, 1020 Brussel.

De voormiddag was op de resultaten van het LIAISE 2-project gericht, en heeft het woord aan de Belgische steden leden van het BFPVS gegeven om over de lokale acties rond de preventie van de gewelddadige radicalisering te bespreken.

De professionelen actief in de stedelijke veiligheid en/of de preventie van de gewelddadige radicalisering waren uitgenodigd.

De deelname was gratis, maar de plaatsen waren beperkt. Gelieve u vóór 4 december via deze link in te schrijven.

Our European partner, Efus, invites you every Tuesday and Thursday at 2pm for a series of one hour thematic webconferences. Moderated by our team with contributions of one or more local actors and experts, these online debates will be the opportunity to share your experiences of the crisis. These webconferences are firstly intended for Efus members, but are also open to interested non-members, subject to availability. They will be held in English or in French. Please note that you have to register seperately for each session.

The SARS-CoV-2 and the measures taken to control its spread affect all of us, however they hit those inhabitants of our cities who are already coping with difficult living conditions particularly hard. In the early stages of the epidemic and the shutdown, it quickly became clear that the lives of homeless persons and people who use drugs in public space are particularly affected. The services municipalities provided to these groups have difficulties adapting to the measures taken, and partly had to be limited or even suspended. In this situation, local authorities and harm reduction workers are faced with many pressing questions: How can harm reduction services adapt and keep running? What support is needed and possible in cases of suspected or confirmed infections? How can quarantine measures be implemented in situations of homelessness and/or active drug use? Cities and NGOs are closely cooperating to find responses to these questions – this session will enable an exchange on these responses and related issues.

Met het oog op onze nationale colloquium op 6 oktober 2020, wil het Belgisch Forum voor Preventie en Veiligheid in de Steden vzw haar dienstenaanbod aanpassen aan de behoeften van de lokale verkozenen en professionelen in België.
